July 8, 2010

The June release of the family of OnSite Mobile Apps for iPhone and BlackBerry are gaining excitement within the construction industry. With the tremendous response and high number of downloads the iPhone applications have received in the first few weeks of release, publications within the industry are recognizing the excitement, particularly Constructech Magazine.

Constructech Magazine, the leading authority in construction technology, featured UDA Technologies in a recent CT Today, Constructech's weekly Residential and Commercial newsletter that reaches thousands of readers each week.

An excerpt from the article:

Whether you're looking for a better way to log employees' time on a project, make a crucial measurement on the jobsite, or automate business-process management, one tool required is one you most likely already have: a smartphone. Construction productivity tools are going mobile, and the combination of advancing cellphone technology and a flurry of activity by app developers has led to an array of easy-to-adopt solutions for residential builders.

A number of apps with much more complex functionalities are being developed with the construction industry in mind. These solutions take construction productivity software to the next level, integrating all aspects of the business onto a mobile platform and enabling more efficient, thorough, and cost-effective work.

One company innovating in this area, UDA Technologies, www.udatechnologies.com, Auburn, Ala., recently released three onsite mobile apps for the iPhone aimed to enhance its ConstructionOnline software solution. The free downloads include: OnSite Photo, which allows users to take and instantly upload photos so a team or customer can view and comment; OnSite Video, which enables recording, uploading, and sharing videos up to 10 minutes in length; and OnSite Files, which provides access to files directly from a mobile device. UDA also offers OnSite Photo for devices running on BlackBerry,

"To be recognized for our innovation by Constructech Magazine is very exciting," said Michael Stevens, President of UDA Technologies, "It shows we're moving in the right direction by providing our clients with innovative tools that will help them perform and succeed in the field."

Additional mobile apps are currently in development for the iPhone, iPad, and BlackBerry. For more information, click here.
